Mid-Downs DAC March Show 2009.
Yes another year for KC shows starts in the South East with Mid-Downs our home show.
The main difference this year being the weather which would have been up there with the best we have endured at this time of year for MDDAC shows.
Number of runs down this year by 150 to 2600 still meant some rings having over 500 dogs through. The last ring finished just short of 6.pm.
With the reporters dogs in all rings apart from the G7A the courses ranged from doable but lively for the novice dogs to the more technically demanding for the seniors particularly in the jumping events. My most entertaining run of the day was my eldest competing dog now having endured years of bad handling decided he had enough and sent me up the A frame while he gave me encouragement from the ground. Needless to say all I managed was the up contact.
Apart from my woes there where several good achievements by members with no less than eleven MDDAC runs finishing in the places one third trophy in the qualifiers. Well done to all those members getting places:
Paul & Derv 3rd L5-7AQ (Winner James Laing Trophy)
Tricia & Blaze 5th L3J
Kevin & Dodger 7th LA6
Marian & Buddy 9th L3-5J
Cat & Todd 9th L3-4A
Tricia & Blaze 10th L3-5J
Kevin & Dodger 11th L5-7AQ
Katy & Pip 12th LA6
Cat & Todd 12th L4-5A
Tricia & Mollie 13th L3-5J
Don & Charlie 17th L3-5J
Hopefully I have missed no one but I am sure you will let me know if I have. A big thank you for the big support from our members. This was definately the best year so far for members turning up who did not have a run with their dog.
Fun of the day must go to Margie who was complaining during the running of part one in mid afternoon that she had to wait for the second part of LG3 jumping with Fern which was her best chance of the day only to eventually find out while she was walking part 2 that she should have run in part 1. Don't you just love agility!
